Gjirokastra Culture Tour

Gjirokastra it is the town where our dictator, was born at 1908, and his house in nova days it is the Ethnographic Museum of the town. Also Gjirokastra is the Town, where one on the most famous and decorative Author was born too, Mr, Ismail Kadare. Gjirokastra, it is starting from the year 2005 part of Unesco, and the Castle both with the Old Pazar are the most famous attraction for all the Tourists.

Birthplace of both the renowned writer Ismail Kadare and the feared dictator Enver Hoxha, this UNESCO World Heritage-listed city is well worth visiting for the sweeping views from its steep streets and for the well-preserved Ottoman architecture of the massive merchants’ houses, clinging against the mountainside and built with defense purposes in mind. The so-called stone city also has a charming and lively bazaar with small shops and restaurants facing the cobbled streets. The massive castle above it houses an arms museum, though it’s most memorable for the fantastic views across the valley.
